Maple Sugar Moon: Honouring the Gift

This spring, Grey Roots invites you to experience the joy of maple! 

  • Get moving with live music from the Merry Music Makers
  • Enjoy pancakes from Kiwanis with real maple syrup (cash only)
  • Free fresh maple snow taffy for children from DeJong Acres!
  • Experience a drum circle with M’Wikwedong Native Cultural Resource Centre
  • Explore Sacred Medicines and Mother Earth through teachings from Nikaanaganaa Counselling & Learning Centre
  • Learn about maple trees from the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority
  • Sample fragrant cedar tea and listen to stories of the very first maple sugar moon!
  • Make your own bannock, try your hand at tree tapping, and see how sap gets boiled into syrup

The steam engine will be running in the village! Bring the whole family and rejoice at this traditional rite of spring!
