We are mixing it up this March Break! Register today to enjoy an outdoor art activity in the morning, or a wintry game in the afternoon with fireside hot chocolate and treats. OR sign up for both and make a day of it! Please note that all children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
All the fun takes place in Moreston Heritage Village, rain, snow, or shine! We’re hoping for light clouds, but sun protection and snow suits may be needed. Dress for the weather and be ready for some mess!

Swing into March Break by creating some Pendulum Paint Art! Participants will get into the swing of things and have a lot of family fun before taking home a beautiful piece of original artwork.

Spring is just around the corner, so to prepare, let’s have some fun playing Clean Sweep! Teams will compete in the snow for fun and glory. Because things can get heated while sweeping, masks will be required for those playing with anyone outside of their household. After the game, we’ll enjoy a campfire, hot chocolate, s’more, and cookie!

Who said not to burst your bubbles? They clearly haven’t made Bubble Art at Grey Roots! Using bubbles and colours, we’ll be making some beautiful (and beautifully messy) art. If the weather cooperates, we will try to freeze some bubbles too!

Welcome to Puzzler’s Paradise! Participants will get creative and challenge each other by creating puzzling mazes in Moreston Village. We’ll be flexible with the weather and create either snow or string mazes. With a little help from YOU, we’ll have a blast turning our scenic village into a puzzler’s paradise! Once you’ve puzzled your friends with your labyrinth, join us at a fire for a hot chocolate, s’more and cookie!

Art at 10:30: Potential for mess is high today! Working outside, we’ll create Snow-tastic Tissue Art using bleeding tissue paper. Curious how it works? Think tissue paper + art paper + snow. Using snow, we’ll transfer colours from the tissue to the art paper. Once dried, extra details can be added at home with paint, marker, crayon or pencil. We’ll try to keep the mess at Grey Roots!

While building snowmen is fun, we want to challenge you to build Snow Animals! Create a horse, or a chicken, maybe even an elephant! We’ll provide the space (and hopefully, the snow) if you provide the creativity! When the building is done, join us at a fire for a hot chocolate, s’more and cookie!

Art at 10:30: In this introduction to Printmaking, participants will learn printmaking lingo, make their own lithograph, and use it to create their very own prints!

Snow looks like a blank canvas and in this afternoon activity you can fill that canvas with colour! Don’t forget a camera so you can take your Snow Painting home! When the creating is done, join us at a fire for a hot chocolate, s’more and cookie!

Admission is $5 plus HST per non-member adult for each activity day (regular admission is $8 plus HST). This special rate does not include activity supplies or food. If you wish to participate alongside your child (or on your own - all ages are welcome!), please enter yourself as a participant, rather than adult support person.
