Moreston by Candlelight

Join us in Moreston Heritage Village for an old fashioned Christmas!

The village and historic buildings are dressed in their holiday best! Enjoy:

  • Horse drawn sleigh rides
  • Hot apple cider & cookies (new this year: guests are invited to bring a reusable mug for hot apple cider!)
  • Live music and sing-along carols from Sing! Show Chorus, Dan McGee, & Ruth & Chuck Merrill
  • Village buildings open for exploration
  • Food available in the cafe from DeJong Acres
  • All galleries open for exploration

This event is a truly unique experience for all ages and has become a well-loved annual tradition. The event now takes place over two nights! Join us from 4 - 8 p.m. on either Saturday or Sunday

  • Dual Acres sleigh rides begin in front of the Bluewater Garage

  • St Andrew's Choir performance in the School House

  • Ruth & Chuck Merrill performance in the School House

7:00 p.m. 

  • Sing! Show Chorus performance in the Blacksmith Shop


Special event admission rates apply. Tickets are on sale now! Ticket prices are $4 for children (under 12), $8 for adults (13-64), $6 for seniors (65+) or $20 for a family. All tickets are + tax and children under 5 are free.

Due to last year's popularity, we encourage you to purchase your tickets in advance. This will allow us to more accurately predict attendance numbers for both nights, so we can better accommodate our guests and YOU can have a better experience at the event!

Grey Roots Members: FREE! If you're a Grey Roots Member, we'd still like (really) to know what night you plan on attending! You can RSVP in person, over the phone at 519-376-3690, or by emailing And remember to bring your valid membership card to the event!

Reciprocal memberships: Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre; Huron County Museum & Historic Gaol; Simcoe County Museum; and the Region of Waterloo Museums are required to purchase tickets / pay admission fees on special event days.
