Our 14th Anniversary: Ivory Artefacts
This year Grey Roots Museum & Archives is celebrating its 14th anniversary! Since ivory is the traditional 14th wedding anniversary gift, we are highlighting artefacts in our collection that are made of or contain ivory, and exploring the issues surrounding this material.
Owen Sound District Secondary School co-op student Hannah Mustard researched, selected artefacts, and interpreted them during her fall 2017-winter 2018 placement with Grey Roots. She says she has learned a lot about ivory (and how long it takes to mount an exhibit)!
