We need your help!
This fall, Grey Roots Museum & Archives will be mounting a new in-house exhibition. It will focus on the Canadian Branch of the Red Cross, and on domestic work undertaken in support of the war effort in Grey County during the First and Second World Wars. This may have included making fundraising quilts for charities and comfort quilts for prisoners of war, knitting socks and toques for Canadian soldiers and sailors, assembling care parcels for shipment overseas, and fundraising through bake sales, concerts, raffles, door-to-door canvasing, teas, and tag days.
If you have any photographs, letters or memories of your parents’ or grandparents’ involvement with the Canadian Red Cross or other war effort work on the home front, we would love to hear from you!
