Spring Lecture Series - Internet Genealogy Research: Tools and Tips

Janet Iles will share tools and tips for researching your ancestors who lived in Grey County and beyond, using both paid sites, such as Ancestry, and free websites. Not everything is on the Internet, but the Internet also can help you find other resources where you can learn about your ancestors and their lives.

Janet Iles researches and lectures on local history and genealogy related topics. She writes two personal blogs: Janet the Researcher and The Graveyard Rabbit of Grey County, Ontario. She is a Past-President of the Grey County Historical Society, President of the Markham Berczy Settlers Association and Vice-Chair of the Bruce-Grey Branch Ontario Genealogical Society. Janet is author of two books: The Churches of Grey Presbytery of the United Church of Canada: Historical Highlights and In Grateful Remembrance: Honouring the Men from Knox, Owen Sound, who Paid the Supreme Sacrifice.

This presentation is part of our Spring Lecture Series taking place on Tuesday afternoons from March 19 through April 9 at 2:30 pm in our Theatre. Complimentary refreshments following. Free with admission. Members free as always.
