This lecture is now available to view on our YouTube page, please click right here!
Join Janet Iles from the safety and comfort of your own home for this free online talk streaming live on Tuesday, November 16 at 1 p.m.
Janet will share tools and tips for researching your ancestors from Grey County and beyond, using both paid sites such as ancestry.ca, and free websites. While not everything is on the internet, it can help you find other useful resources in your genealogical research.
Besides researching and lecturing on local history and genealogy, Janet runs two personal blogs: Janet the Researcher and The Graveyard Rabbit of Grey County, Ontario. She is a Grey County Historical Society board member, President of the Markham Berczy Settlers Association, and Vice-Chair of the Bruce-Grey Branch of Ontario Ancestors, the Ontario Genealogical Society. Janet is the author of two books: The Churches of Grey Presbytery of the United Church of Canada: Historical Highlights and In Grateful Remembrance: Honouring the Men from Knox, Owen Sound, who paid the Supreme Sacrifice.
