Saukiing Anishnaabekiing presents: Our Stories

This beautiful exhibit, created by celebrated Indigenous artist Nyle Miigizi Johnston, invokes Anishnaabe creation stories, and drives home the massive impact the treaty process had and continues to have on First Nations communities. It points toward reconciliation with bold lines and strikingly vibrant colours.

Canvas art panels hung on display. The leftmost panel includes text introducing the display.

Saukiing Anishnaabekiing presents: Our Stories is displayed ahead of the entrance to the Grey County gallery, a visual reminder that human history began here long before the County of Grey came to be.

We are thankful not just for the talents and efforts of Nyle Miigizi Johnston, but also for the counsel of our Indigenous Advisory Circle, who, among other contributions, provided the name for this exhibit.
