The Thomas Wheildon Theatre features 75 seat stadium seating, Bose 7.1 speakers, assistive listening devices, and a 23 foot screen paired with a Christie DHD800 High Definition projector capable of displaying most current forms of media. The theatre is ideal for private screenings, corporate events, presentations, intimate concerts, or even playing video games on a really big screen. The speedy WiFi at Grey Roots makes interactive meetings and presentations a snap.
Exciting upgrades are coming to our theatre! Once complete, we'll see improved lighting, enhanced audio and projection capabilities, and new interactive video conferencing tools. These improvements will elevate programming, events, and exhibits at the museum while accommodating increased public and corporate bookings. We are especially grateful to Mr. Thomas Wheildon, a long-time supporter, who has generously provided a $50,000 sponsorship over five years. In recognition, the theatre has been renamed the Thomas Wheildon Theatre for a 10-year period, starting in 2024.

1921 Robert Bell Steam Engine
In an age when fewer and fewer classic agricultural machines are being maintained, let alone displayed for public benefit, our 1921 Robert Bell is a must-see. Our fully restored, lovingly cared for steam traction engine celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2021 and continues to put the work in, strong as ever, thanks in large part to the care of Facilities Technician Allan O'Neill.
The Robert Bell is brought out for periodic demonstrations at Grey Roots and is made available for a limited number of off-site demonstrations within Grey County.
There is no rental fee to have the Robert Bell attend an off-site event, but please read the below policies in detail before submitting your application.
