Cooking by the Calendar
This is a FOUR hour program and cannot be combined with any other programs.
Lettuce turnip the beet as we dive into learning about celebration and traditions through food!
If we think about it, when most holidays and celebrations come around, there are must-have foods to help us celebrate. Join us to learn about and taste test some wintertime treats from celebrations around the world. Celebrations that will be explored include Eid, Diwali, Christmas, Hanukkah, the Day of the Dead, and more. Through hands-on centres, discussion, and some baking, students will leave with a better understanding of the diversity in how people celebrate in Grey County, and around the world.

Like the program, but the timing doesn’t work for your class? The spring celebration focused Cooking by the Calendar will be available in 2024. Students will explore Easter, Eid, Passover, Holi, Nowruz, Cinco de Mayo, and Songkran.
Cost is $10 plus HST per student. Teachers and other school support staff are complimentary.
