March Break at Grey Roots!

Enjoy March Break at Grey Roots! We've planned lots of fun activities running Monday, March 11 - Friday, March 15.

All the fun takes place rain, snow, or shine! Certain activities are indoors, others outdoors - make sure to dress for the weather and the location of your activity. Participants can register for 1, 2, or 3 activities per day. Please note that children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Admission to the Museum is included with registration (Grey Roots Members receive a 10% discount - request your discount code here).

Monday March 11

Bears might still be hibernating, but not us! We'll look to our upcoming summer exhibit, Inspiring Nature, to help shake off the winter blues. Participants will create a paper cross-section of a forest and populate it with animals while learning all about the animals that call their forest home.

This is an indoor program, bring indoor shoes and get comfy!

Tuesday March 12

This one is for the artists!

Learn all about folk art, by exploring works by Erskine Brown and Maude Lewis, before creating your own piece of folk art to take home.

Folk art can simply be described as art that is of, for, and by the people. Formal training not required!  

This is an indoor program, bring indoor shoes and prepare to get messy!

Back by popular demand: participants will create beaded masterpieces using fuse/Perler Beads. This may take some patience and fine motor skills, but the payoff is worth it! Templates are available, but if you have a specific request, please let us know

Please note that each child must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is $5 plus HST per non-member adult for each activity day (regular admission is $8 plus HST). This special rate does not include activity supplies or food. If you wish to participate alongside your child (or on your own - all ages are welcome!), please register yourself as a participant, rather than an adult chaperone.
