Hi, I’m Alexander, I am going into my second year of a Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University. Away from school I like to hike, play basketball and go golfing. I have lived in the Bruce-Grey area all my life. I am looking forward to a fun filled KidsCamp.

Chelsi is returning to Grey Roots this year, but in a new position! As this year’s KidsCamp Lead, she is excited to be working with the children who will be attending camp. Chelsi is currently pursuing her master's degree in Cultural Analysis and Social Theory after recently completing her bachelor’s degree and getting a diploma in Museum and Gallery Studies. In her past life, Chelsi worked as a paramedic in the area for 11 years. Passion wise, she loves experiencing different cultures through travel. At home she spends her time with her partner and children by enjoying our beautiful region on the shores of Georgian Bay.

Hello! My name is Claire, and I am so excited to be part of this summer's camp experience. I recently graduated from the University of Guelph in December with a degree in Biomedical Toxicology. Now I am starting at Brock University for Teachers College this September, focusing on Chemistry and Biology in the Intermediate Senior Division.

In the summer you can find me spending time with my two dogs Sydney and Nala. They keep me active and you might find us exploring parks or enjoying long walks together. When I'm not studying or exercising, I spend lots of time with friends, especially at the beach and kayaking! I'm incredibly excited about this summer and can't wait to meet all of the campers!

Thank you to 101.7 The One for supporting Grey Roots KidsCamp!

I wanted to thank the staff of Grey Roots Day Camp for the great experience that they gave my daughter this summer. Jada loved the crafts, fun activities, and learning about the rain forest, Kings and Queens, and about pioneer life.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and energetic. The camp was well organized and the communication was perfect.

Jada said “ I like making the rain maker and growing my bean”. She has not stopped taking about the camp fire. She also said that she liked “playing with friends” and "being with Stacey”.

Thanks again. See you March Break & next summer!

August 2017

My son is enrolled in the Grey Roots Summer Camp this week for "Vikings Week". He attended last week as well, and had made it very clear to the Camp Counselors that he was "Super Excited" to make Catapults during Viking Week.

First day of Viking Week, my son took ill (not seriously) and had to be picked up early from camp. This also happened to be the same day that the Catapult craft was scheduled for. The staff of the Grey Roots summer camp program went above & beyond by adjusting their scheduled plans for the day so the kids could do the Catapult craft the next day, when my son was back to camp and feeling better, as they knew how much he had been looking forward to it.

To know that the caregivers that your child is spending their day with are so compassionate and caring to offer to do that for my son, showed how dedicated they are to ensuring that all of the kids have great experiences and never leave disappointed while at camp and under their care.

Many, many thanks for making my son's day brighter, and his camp experience memorable. Feeling gratitude and not sharing it is like wrapping Christmas presents and not opening them, so I share my gratitude to you all.
